Here’s why She-Hulk is different than Hulk

Until Avengers: Endgame, you get to see Hulk as an entirely different personality than Bruce Banner.

It’s only in the 4th installment of Avengers that you get to see a geeky, nerfed and controlled Hulk which Marvel terms as ‘Smart Hulk’. This Hulk is fusion of the strength of Hulk and the control of Bruce Banner. The first episode of She-Hulk fills in on the missing details about this.

This also means that Hulk is still hiding somewhere inside Bruce Banner and it’s only a matter of time before we get to see him.

But that’s the major thing that separates She-Hulk from The Hulk.

According to the studies done by Bruce Banner on Jennifer Walters’ blood, the gamma reacts differently with her blood. Because of that, there isn’t a split personality of She-Hulk in Jennifer Walters.

That’s the reason Jennifer Walters can control her powers better than Banner. She can switch between her human and green form quickly.

Here are 3 reasons for this:

1. Bruce obviously got the full blast of gamma radiation, whereas Jen just got a bit of it from Bruce’s blood. Hence, the lesser amount of gamma radiation may be the reason for the absence of a separate personality.
2. Banner already had super soldier serum running inside him. When he was exposed to gamma radiation, that’s when Hulk came into existence. Walters didn’t have any serum running through her blood.
3. Bruce Banner had a traumatic childhood. Hence, he already had rage and anger inside him. So, just as Abraham Erskine said “The serum amplifies everything. Good becomes great and bad becomes worse.” Jennifer Walters on the other hand had a normal childhood.

All of this just gives She-Hulk an upper hand over The Hulk. Bruce Banner had to work hard on controlling Hulk whereas her cousin might not have that problem.
